The current cost is estimated to be between $5700-6300.
--> A price range is given until the final cost is fixed. This final cost will depend on a variety of factors including number of student participants on the program, exchange rate of the US dollars into Euros, etc.
What do program costs cover?
Program costs Include LDS undergraduate full tuition (increased cost for grads and non-LDS) and international health insurance. The basic program cost includes several group activities in Vienna, excursions to Salzburg, Hallstatt, and Budapest among others.
What isn't covered? And booking flights.
Does not include airfare, lunches in Vienna, most meals on excursions, personal expenses such as souvenirs and non-program related entrance fees. Low-cost meals are available in Vienna, including two dinners per week in the LDS Outreach Center, payable by the student.
Re Flights: Please note that students are responsible for booking their own travel to and from Vienna. We will not be traveling as a group as students will be flying to Vienna from various locations. Students may use BYU's travel office to book flights. Their office is often able to find good flight prices.

That's a lot of money. So how can I afford Study Abroad?
One of the biggest hurdles facing students can be summed up by one question: How on earth can I pay for that? In fact, the additional cost of studying abroad is not substantial when compared with staying here in Provo for the same period of time. That said, it's a reasonable question to ask how to find that extra money.
Funding Levels for International Internships (Vienna counts here):
For MAJORS in the College of Humanities: $2000
For MINORS in the College of Humanities: $1000
NOTA BENE! You can only apply for one type of funding from the College of Humanities at a time. So you cannot request support for internships and study abroad. We recommend you apply for the internship support. But please take note of criterium #3 from the list above!
Please wait until you are formally accepted into the program to submit your application for internship support.
Not a major or minor in the College of Humanities? Check with your college to see if they provide financial support for the internships.
Sometimes students are able to get support from multiple sources including both their major and minor programs and colleges. Check with your college advisement center to see if you are eligible for funding.
Full or Partial Academic Scholarships
Full or partial scholarships can be applied to the cost of the program reducing the overall total owing for the program.
ORCA grants
ORCA Grants are due the last full week of October. However, if you are lucky enough to have applied for one and are awarded one, you can use this money to offset the cost of the program.
Pell Grants, and Federal Insured Student Loans may be applied to study abroad programs. Students who submit the financial aid section of the ISP application and who have a current FAFSA form on file at the Financial Aid Office (A-41 ASB) will be considered for a study abroad scholarship and may be considered for other scholarships. They must indicate on their original online application that they want to be considered for financial aid.
Students who have already been initiated into the German Honor Society may be eligible to apply for scholarships which can be applied to the program costs.
