Why Vienna? Improve your German while building your CV with practical work experience in this culturally rich city which was once the seat of a European Empire.
Students in the 2018 Vienna Study Abroad/Internship program will learn about the rich cultural history of Vienna and the Austro-Hungarian Empire while building their German proficiency. Those interested in completing one of the high-quality internships in business, social work, politics, education or the arts will also gain valuable work experience. How much of a difference will that make in your future? Ask Sarah. Her internship in Vienna dealt with the de-radicalization of Muslim youth which later paved the way for her position in the office of the US Senate Minority Leader. Where will your internship take you?
Vienna will not only change your future, it will change your life.
Your classrooms and work spaces? The Opera House, St. Stephen’s Gothic Cathedral, the narrow little street where Beethoven composed the Fifth Symphony, the magnificent pastry table at the Café Central, the car with the bullet hole that started World War I, the ballroom where the Empress Sisi first showed off her Viennese Waltz, and the streets where the horse driven carriages transport us back in time.
Professor Laura Catharine Smith invites you to join her in exploring the language, culture and history that is the best Austria has to offer.
